Chinese New Year!

As Chinese New Year is today and we would like to proudly introduce our range of Chinese Zodiac Essential Oil Blends. As the tale goes, the gods decided to host a contest to see which animal could cross a river first. The winner would claim first in the cycle, and the following eleven would go in order. As the rat was the tiniest of the lot, the other animals figured he was guaranteed a last-place finish. When the race started, however, the smart rat hopped on the back of the ox. Just as the ox was about to jump onto the riverbank to claim victory, the rat leapt off his back and won the race. Here is how the rest of the race finished up:

1st - Rat 2nd - Ox 3rd - Tiger 4th - Rabbit 5th - Dragon 6th - Snake 7th - Horse 8th - Goat 9th - Monkey 10th - Rooster 11th - Dog 12th - Pig

So, this is the story behind the Chinese Astrology. Each animal has unique characteristics, and you will adopt those based on the year of which you were born. Our blends contain certain oils that will encourage the positive traits from each animal.

As it's 2019, we are currently in the 'Year of the Pig' so make the most of this fortuitous year and buy the Pig EOB!

Not only are each of us betrothed a fantastic animal, but we are also assigned a unique element. The elements differ from Western Astrology as they consist of, Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water. Which is also known as the "Five Phases".

Similar to the Chinese Zodiac signs, the elements also tell a lot about us as a person and identifies our specific strengths and weaknesses. Each sign also comes under the terms, Yin or Yang.

Yin and Yang represent how seemingly opposite forces may be complementary and interdependent in the natural world, and how they may give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Of the 12 zodiac animals in order, all the odd numbered animals are Yang and the even numbered animals are Yin.

Yang: Rat, Tiger, Dragon, Horse, Monkey and Dog.

Yin: Ox, Rabbit, Snake, Goat, Rooster and Pig.

If your year ends in 0, you are Yang Metal. If your year ends in 1, you are Yin Metal. If your year ends in 2, you are Yang Water. If your year ends in 3, you are Yin Water. If your year ends in 4, you are Yang Wood. If your year ends in 5, you are Yin Wood. If your year ends in 6, you are Yang Fire. If your year ends in 7, you are Yin Fire. If your year ends in 8, you are Yang Earth. If your year ends in 9, you are Yin Earth.

Please note, since the (traditional) Chinese zodiac follows the (lunisolar) Chinese calendar, the switch-over date is the Chinese New Year, not January 1st as in the Gregorian calendar. Therefore, a person who was born in January or early February may have the sign of the previous year.
