Football's coming home?

Updated: Jan 15, 2020

Hi Mystic Moments, we as a nation need to know... Is it coming home?

66 million fans, From England.

I'm no psychic octopus, but England has been displaying many positives this World Cup. There is a breath of fresh air about this new-look England side, full of youth and overflowing with the ambition to succeed. This is why I'm quietly confident that football is finally coming home.

Let's be realistic here, on paper England are not the most talented team at this World Cup. The standard pressure from the fans and the media has been significantly less this time around. We have gone into this tournament, whether we like to admit it or not, with zero expectations. Albeit, the England team I've seen since our very first game against Tunisia, is a team brimming with confidence. Gareth Southgate has instilled great faith into his side, he's made them believe they can win and in turn, we as a nation, also believe we can win. What we might lack in ability, we more than makeup for with a sensational team spirit, and it is incredible how far that can take you. Our display against Colombia demonstrated why we have now got a fantastic chance of winning it.

As we saw on a nervy Tuesday night for Gareth Southgate's side in Moscow, there is an extremely fine line between success and failure. We have seen this from previous tournaments and especially this tournament, the best teams do not always come out on top. We have already seen early exits from Germany and Spain, which are arguably two of the best sides in the tournament. We have also seen Argentina and Portugal drop out which saw us say a sad goodbye to two of the greatest players of all time, Pepe and Mascherano. It is usually the teams with togetherness, belief and a fire in their belly that go on and achieve things at a tournament like this, and England certainly look on course.

Strength of Character

They showed their mettle against a physical Colombian side, and they overcame every setback. As a nation, we are so proud of them. A lot of people see England as being 'specialists in failure'. All you have to look at is our previous penalty record and that alone will feel you with hope, that we have finally flipped the script and 2018 could be the year it comes home. Without question, there have been more gifted England squads at World Cups. Especially the golden generation of Terry, Ferdinand, Cole, Lampard, Scholes, Gerrard, Beckham and a young, fresh-faced Wayne Rooney. On paper, we have had some top sides, but in regards to a unit, we might not have had a better group of players than this one. That's what makes this team different. This team is young, vibrant and exciting and have got a great mental attitude, they play free-flowing football and look like they are all enjoying themselves immensely. It is an England team that is finally allowed to play with a bit of freedom and be able to express themselves on the pitch, which is a real joy to see. I am proud of what they have done so far in Russia, and I am looking forward to seeing what they do next. Sweden will be next to fall!

We all need to be in the right state of mind, we need to be relaxed, we need to be concise, and we need to support our boys until the very end!

This is vital! When England win on Saturday, the chances are a high percentage of the nation will be feeling a little bit worse for wear the next day. Sleep Assisting

Make sure you have a good nights rest. Not only after the game but also before the big games. We need as much support as we can get, and we need our nation to feel fresh. Everyone needs 8 hours of sleep, minimum. The sweet scent of sleep assisting contains Lavender, Lemon, Marjoram and Chamomile. Harry Kane, if you're struggling to sleep give us a buzz!
